Fabien Berciaud

Fabien Berciaud, 35, is a Senior Business Developer at AXA Climate. Fabien graduated from Master 212 at the Paris Dauphine University and the Goethe Universität Frankfurt (Volkswirtschaftsdiplom). Fabien covers large companies and captives for tailor-made parametric coverage to protect against the risks inherent to climate change and natural disaster. He is specialized in the food and agro industry that he covers for over 10 years via its experience in structured finance across geographies (Paris, Singapore, NY, Frankfurt).

Rami Bou Nader

Rami is a Senior Underwriter and Business Development Manager. He’s in charge of developing parametric insurance in the Middle-East and North and West Africa. He previously worked on digital and data innovation initiatives at AXA. Rami is currently an economics lecturer, focusing on insurance, and holds a PhD in Economics from Ecole Normale Superieure Paris-Saclay.

Varsha Canoo

Varsha is facilitating the day-to-day operations of the team by supporting it in various missions such as Portfolio Management, Accounting, Communication and Claims Management.
Prior to joining AXA Climate, Varsha worked in Allianz developing skills and knowledge around Project Management for P&C Middle Corporation insurance such as underwriting, loss engineering and claims experience.
She holds a Master's Degree in Risk Management & Insurance from Ecole Supérieure d'Assurances of Paris and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from Pole Paris Alternance Business School.

Adrien Cassegrain

Adrien is a Senior Underwriter, he develops and builds risk models for the energy sector and natural catastrophes in order to better understand the impact of climate change on economic sectors. Prior to joining AXA Climate, Adrien started his professional career working in the energy industry in the UK. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Mines ParisTech, where he specialized in applied mathematics, statistics and geostatistics.

Christelle Castet

Christelle is our climate risk specialist, in charge of modeling climate-related hazards and being in contact with the scientific community. She joined AXA 3 years ago as a Catastrophe Modeler to develop internal risk models. After getting her PhD at Florida State University she moved to Paris to pursue her research at the Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique on climate feedbacks. She then joined an engineering team at the CEA to assess atmospheric dispersion risks.

Antoine Denoix

Antoine is a CEO of AXA Climate. In 2008, after working at Google France, he co-founded fifty-five, a global data marketing agency. Five years ago, he joined AXA France ExCom, as Chief Marketing, Digital, Partnerships and Customer Officer. He published three books, including “Big Data, Smart Data, Stupid Data” last year. No doubt - parametric insurance is the best space to mix data, technology and protection!

Maxime Deroubaix

Maxime has been a Data Scientist and parametric insurance Underwriter at AXA Climate since the beginning of 2017. He holds a Master’s degree in Geostatistics and applied probabilities from Mines ParisTech University in France. Maxime joined AXA after his experience in a strategy consulting firm and a start-up for which he developed a patented weather prediction model. His 6-month experience in Singapore provided him with a valuable knowledge in the Asian parametric insurance market.

Amaury Dufetel

Amaury is a Head of Insurance offer and Pricing at AXA Climate. Working in the insurance industry since 2003, Amaury has a solid experience in both P&C and life insurance, especially in: pricing models, reinsurance structuration and natural events modeling. Prior to joining AXA Climate, he held various roles in AXA and was the co-founder and CEO of an InsurTech startup for two years.

Clélia Duvoux

Clelia has been a Business Developer Analyst for the European region at AXA Climate since 2017. She also supports the Operations team in Project Management.
Prior to joining the team, Clelia worked for an international insurance broker. Clelia holds a Master's degree in Insurance Law, Economics and Risk Management from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.

Isa Ennadifi

Isa is a Senior Underwriter in London for AXA Climate. Prior to joining the team, she started her career at SCOR in 2011, and then joined AXA XL two years ago. She has a structuring and underwriting background in the Alternative Risk transfer market. This is a real advantage to have her international exposure and agility in the changing world of Parametrics to develop solutions mitigating climate impacts for private and public sectors.
She is also a qualified member of both the French (IA) and UK (IFoA) institute of Actuaries and holds a Master’s degree from the Institute Supérieur de l’Université Pierre et Marie-Curie (ISUP – Paris).

Arlen Kharmandarian

After a few years in the aerospace industry as a system engineer and as a data and strategy consultant, Arlen joined AXA France in 2009 where he was in charge of digitization projects for 6 years and a “Head of Big Data, AI, and New Technologies “ for the last 4 years. He is a Head of Tech and Data for AXA Climate, he focuses on the accelerating the development and deployment of Data & Tech capabilities in order to scale the business.

François Lanavère

François is a Head of Business Development at AXA Climate. Since the start of his career in 2001 in the Brokerage Sector, he has developed passion for Sales and Customer Relations.

Prior to joining AXA Climate, François worked at Gras Savoye Willis Towers Watson, the largest French insurance broker, where he was in charge of Sales for Property and Casualty. Before 2010, he was in charge of Affinity and Bank Insurance partnerships in Western Europe.

In addition, he is the General Secretary of the “UJARF”, the French association for Young Insurers and Reinsurers.

François graduated from NEOMA Business School where he specialized in Marketing.

Alice Legrix de la Salle

Alice is our Chief Operations Officer, in charge of Finance, Marketing, Policy management and Claims handling. Prior to joining AXA Climate, Alice was a manager in a consulting firm where she led missions around digital transformation and innovation. She graduated from Mines ParisTech, where she specialized in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Kristian Mangold

Kristian is a Public-Sector Business Developer. He is involved with large and complex projects ranging from national agriculture insurance programs aiming at protecting vulnerable farmers to Disaster Risk Financing for the Public Sector. He is a graduate of Copenhagen Business School, majoring in International Business and Politics and also holds a Master’s degree in Management from CEMS.

Gwendal Pougnet

Gwendal is a Chief Underwriting Officer within AXA Climate. Prior to that, he was a Head of Underwriting and Transformation Officer at AXA Spain, contributing to the division turnaround.
From 2010 to 2013, Gwendal held executive positions in finance and strategy in the staff of the CEO at AXA Global P&C and before that, he worked as an Actuary, mainly in Risk Transfer Operations (reinsurance, ILS). He graduated from Actuary, Sorbonne Business School and holds a degree in Civil Engineering.

Boris Rohde

Boris is a Data Scientist, he develops models for multiple industries such as agriculture, energy and retail. He also builds new automated models in order to facilitate index monitoring and assure fast payout to our clients. He graduated from Supelec where he specialized in signal analysis, machine learning and robotics.

Zijun Shen

Prior to joining AXA Climate, Zijun worked as a Senior Actuary at AXA Corporate Solutions, where he was in charge of Natural Catastrophe modelling, Pricing of Property and Specialty line. His International background allowed him to be based in Shanghai for Business Development and Underwriting in Asia. His expertise in statistical modelling, natural catastrophe, innovative spirit as well as understanding of the Asian insurance market is a key enabler to ensure a steady and profitable business increase in Asia. Zijun graduated from Mines ParisTech with a Master's Degree in Geostatistics and Applied Probability.

François Vannesson

François is our General Counsel and the go-to expert in legal and insurance innovation. His extensive knowledge, network and truly innovative mindset are the key components to innovate in a highly regulated sector such as insurance. Prior to joining AXA Climate, François worked at AXA Partners where he supported various projects for the entire AXA Group. He also worked at Gide, an international law firm and Allianz. In addition, he is a senior lecturer at the French National Insurance School, the General Secretary of the “Rules for Growth Institute” and sits on the board of the International Association of Insurance Law – Young.
François holds degrees from the Sorbonne Graduate Business School, the Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne University and the Paris Pantheon-Assas University.

Mia Vioulès

Mia Vioulès is an Underwriter for AXA Climate with a background in data science and four years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining the team, she was part of AXA Global Direct in the commercial pricing team and was responsible for market intelligence. Mia holds Master’s degrees from the Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne University in Applied Mathematics and Ecole Centrale Paris in Data Science. Her professional experience in multiple countries is a strong asset when working with AXA Climate's international clients.

Karina Whalley

Karina Whalley is a Senior Business Developer for Public Sector. She also leads the development of new parametric insurance business in North America and anglophone Africa as well as supporting the AXA Group chairman Denis Duverne in his role as chair of the Insurance Development Forum.
Prior to joining AXA Climate, Karina worked in different industries such as investment banking and journalism.
Karina holds a Master’s Degree in Geopolitics from the Université libre de Bruxelles, with a focus on Development Economics in Africa. She also holds an Undergraduate Degree in Pure Mathematics and Finance from the University of Cape Town.
